Winter, its over.

I'm so over winter and my current wardrobe. Today, I wore snow pants, yes snow pants into the shop, how embarrassing. I tried to dress it up with a sparky pink toque (actually tried) as I caught myself in the mirror going to get my tea, I almost died. I mean really, who cares what you are wearing under your big ugly winter coat and salt stained boots. Right? Umm, Did I just ask that question? Who am I? I care! I care the MOST out of anyone I know. What has winter done to me? Ok, ok I get it. We live in Canada, we get snow, blah blah blah. Do we really need to subject ourselves to snow pants and sparky toque. The answer dolls, is helllll to the no!!!I guess what I'm trying to say is we all have our faux days (today being this girls) but let's stop wearing the same four outfits. You know you are doing it too. Time to change it up. I have spent the morning putting spring outfits together with the ever so popular blanket scarf. Bring the blanket scarf into spring. It deserves another season in your wardrobe. Pair it with plain t shirts and skinny jeans. Appropriate with any foot wear. Let's face it, a strappy sandal is pushing it! Starting with the littlest change in your wardrobe will pull you Out of the winter funk. Sorry winter, it's time to part ways. We Heart It

Glitter Everywhere...Makes Me Think Of You.

We have a little princess in our shop. If you ask my mom she will tell you we have two and I started out exactly the same way....obsessed with anything that sparkles. It is true. I love glitter. I mean who doesn't? Anything that sparkles just has to be mine. This time of year Isla and I start the festival of sparkle.This is Islas pick for her party season (don't you love her little nod to street style with the sneakers that glitter and light up)....so cute.

Of course, being the grown up princesses we are, Eden and I had to come up with a big girl version of Isla's ensemble. First and foremost was hair and makeup. Sassy hair and all about fresh skin and lips. From there the dress. We have this to die for glitter dress in the shop (only 69$) so that's where we started and before we knew it....glitter everywhere.

We have kind of been crushing on braids here at Faun Salon. I must admit that it is one of the greatest way to express " hair love". I mean with a good braid you can just live all the moments. From romantic to beach girl they just seem to help you feel it. In my opinion everything works so much better with a braid....Do you agree?

Serious About The LBD

The holiday season has officially begun! Well, actually, if you are a member of my family the holidays begin with my grandmas birthday in Sept and roll action packed through to the new year. October is an especially busy one as my mom insists that we celebrate every day of her birthday month. I wonder when I will be permitted to adopt this tradition? So needless to say the little black dress is a must in our wardrobe. Eden and I (Eden is not only my shop mate but she is going to become my sister-in-law....I already think of her as my sister) went through all the LBD's in the store and came up with our favs. If your family celebrates for months on end like ours you will need to be able to grab these babies on a minutes notice and either glam them up or dress them down. So here we go..let's rock those LBD's girl!

Ombré, Balayage, Dip Dye... Whats your fav?

Michelle and I like to consider ourselves dedicated to the lusciousness of hair. We are all over the beautiful, beachy, flowy, styles that are super popular. These locks are drop dead gorgeous.  Ombré, Bolayage or Dip Dye are all amazing treatments. Which ones your fav?  

Ombré : shadow effect, ombré is the fading of one colour into another. Usually you will see somewhat of a line where the colors begin their change from one shade to the next. 

Bolayage : A more natural finish. The highlights here are chunky and softer running from light to dark and more full. The idea is to work with regrowth showing your root. As the root grows out the finish leans toward the look of sun kissed hair. Fresh from the beach.

Dip Dye: We love to use the stronger colors here. Dip dye is pretty much just that. Dip into dye. Here you create more of a line between colors but the effect is so dramatic. Channels the inner rockstar.
